Luminox Light Technology
The decisive feature of every Luminox watch is that the time can be read at any time under all possible conditions – whether on or under water, on land or in the air. The energy-independent Luminox Light Technology (LLT) guarantees optimal night readability for up to 25 years, 7 days a week.
Most other watches use luminous paint, which has to be charged by a light source and quickly loses its luminosity. Alternatively, a push-button system is available, where the battery-powered illumination is activated with a switch.
Luminox, however, uses its own technology that was previously reserved for the military and gives Luminox watches an outstanding market position. Every Luminox watch is equipped with tiny gas lights (borosilicate glass capsules) on the hands, the hour indexes and, if required, on the bezels. These light up permanently – without pressing a button or charging the watch with light. Thanks to this unique technology, the time of Luminox watches can always be read at a glance, regardless of external conditions. This unique technology is manufactured in Switzerland with Swiss precision clockwork.

CARBONOX ™ and CARBONOX ™ +
The light and strong material carbon is used in a wide range of products today, especially where an alternative to materials such as aluminium is required. Carbon materials are regularly used in high-tech industries such as construction, motor racing or aviation. Inspired by such areas and with the aim of creating a material that is simultaneously resistant, light and durable, Luminox created CARBONOX™.
CARBONOX ™
Luminox has been working with CARBONOX™ since 2006. This material consists of carbon powder, the proportion of which varies depending on the watch model. Properties such as being three times lighter weight than titanium, a high degree of hardness, long durability and the low heat expansion contribute significantly to the high quality of all Luminox watches. The material is used in the watch cases as well as in selected bracelets and gives the watches a matt black appearance.

Advantages:
CARBONOX ™+
CARBONOX™+ is an ultra-light high-performance bar carbon compound in which carbon fibres make up 40% of the compound. This guarantees an even stronger watch case. The tensile strength of CARBONOX™+ is also twice that of CARBONOX™, while water absorption is three times lower. Conveniently, the “miracle material” is impact, scratch and weather-resistant.
Also characteristic is the distinctive and modern light grey colouring of the watches as well as the carbon fibre pattern.
Automatic
Without batteries and solely through the movements of its wearer’s arm, the automatic watch runs permanently.
An automatic watch is characterised by its self-winding mechanical movement. The energy produced by the wearer’s arm movement automatically winds the rotor spring in small steps. When worn daily, the energy reserve is sufficient to keep the watch running. However, if the timepiece is not worn for a longer period of time or is not stored in a watch winder, it stops.
Selected Luminox watches such as the Luminox Scott Cassell Deep Dive Automatic 1520 series are equipped with a mechanical movement.
